I have successfully defended hundreds of insureds in multiple jurisdictions across Ontario since 1997.  My approach has been client-centric: if the lawyer understands the insured, and develops a personal relationship, the trauma and disruption of the litigation process is mitigated.  The approach also allows me a better understanding of the evidence.  Lawyers do not win cases - evidence determines outcomes.  I have particular experience in defending motor vehicle accidents, occupational liability, agricultural and environmental liability actions.  I am a rural lawyer, and am best suted to defend cases arising in the rural context.  I also understand that settlement, where possible, is in the best interests of all parties.  Cases seldom get better with time - delay is not an effective tactic.  The best settlements are achieved when the file is prepared for trial; if trial is necessary, counsel most be focused, with the evidentiary and legal tools to obtain a favourable outcome.
